Hello,
Welcome to my blog all about Halifax, Nova Scotia. The purpose of this blog is to provide insight to individuals about Halifax and all the great assets it has to offer. I will share with you some of my favorite places to eat, activities and stories about my hometown.
Over the past 4 years of Halifax not being my primary residence, I have grown to really appreciate it. After meeting many different people in Ontario throughout my post-secondary education, I realized that Halifax and the Maritimes are not quite understood. Many ideas and theories about the East Coast are created by a lot of people that have never experienced it. On numerous occasions my friends and peers have said "you live in Halifax, so you're a Newfie right?" Or "you live in Halifax, your dad must be a fisherman." I have heard too many different perspectives about my hometown over the last 4 years, that I feel this blog can finally allow me to set them straight.
I hope I can provide some insight that will not only inform, but possibly interest people enough that someday they will visit this beautiful province I call home.
Anna, I am really excited to read your blog on a weekly basis as I have never been to the East Coast. I look forward to the learning experience of the culture and life of Halifax. Hopefully one day I will experience it for myself!
ReplyDeleteMy family drove to the East Coast when I was young to visit family I had living in Nova Scotia. We also visited P.E.I. and New Brunswich. The East Coast is very different from Ontario and I think it is important for Canadians to visit other provinces in order to get a better sense of our culture. Great blog; the East Coast is beautiful.
ReplyDelete...and by "Brunswich", I really mean "Brunswick".
